What information we collect

The website has no forms, and you do not need to provide personal data to use it. We do not use tools for statistics, analytics or marketing.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your enquiry. As a public body, enquiries may be registered and archived in accordance with the Norwegian Archives Act. They may also be subject to public access under the Norwegian Freedom of Information Act, unless the content is exempt.

Technical information

When you visit the website, technical information such as your IP address, browser and time of visit is recorded in server logs. This is necessary to operate the website and protect it against misuse and attacks. The logs are stored by our hosting provider for a limited period and are deleted automatically.

Purpose and legal basis

We process personal data to respond to enquiries, to operate and secure the website, and to meet our obligations under the Archives Act and the Freedom of Information Act. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary to perform tasks carried out in the public interest and to comply with legal obligations, cf. Article 6(1)(c) and (e) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Third-party services

The website uses the following providers. Some of them receive your IP address when a page loads:

WP Engine: hosts the website.
Cloudflare: protects the website against attacks and improves loading speed.
Google Fonts: provides the fonts used on the website.
Google Maps: shows maps of our ports and our address on the contact page. When a map loads, Google receives your IP address, and the map on the contact page may set cookies from Google.
Avigilon Alta: provides the webcam images. When you start a camera, the video is streamed directly from Avigilon.
jsDelivr: provides the video player for the webcams.

Several of these providers are US companies. Where personal data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA, this is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

We never sell personal data to third parties.

How long we store information

Enquiries are stored for as long as necessary to follow up the matter, and thereafter in accordance with the Archives Act. Server logs are kept only for as long as necessary for operation and security, and are then deleted automatically by our hosting provider.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you and to have inaccurate data corrected. You may also request erasure or restriction of processing, and object to processing, to the extent permitted by the Archives Act and other legislation.

Contact us at post@nordfjordhavn.no. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we are processing personal data in breach of the regulations, you can lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no).
